    bespoke from Catherine Lowe:
    1825 yds/1661 m each of Merino #2 and Silk #2
    These two yarns are held together as a single strand.

    NEEDLES
    beret: 0, 1 and 5 US/2.0, 2.5 and 3.75 mm
    scarf: 0, 1, 2 and 5 US/2.0, 2.5, 3.0 and 3.75 mm

    crochet hook: B/2.0 mm

  • FINISHED MEASUREMENTS:
    beret: 20"/51 cm circumference at base
    scarf: 7.5"/19 cm wide; 72"/183 cm long

    FINISHED GAUGE
    fluted fabric stitch: 12 stitches and 14 rows = 1"/2.54 cm for beret; 10.7 stitches and 14 rows = 1"/2.54 cm for scarf
    stockinette stitch: 9 stitches and 11 rows = 1"/2.54 cm for beret; 8.75 stitches and 12 rows = 1"/2.54 cm for scarf

    FABRICATION AND CONSTRUCTION NOTES
    The hat is worked in two sections: the hat band is knit flat in the fluted fabric stitch and then constructed; the crown is picked up from the top edge of the hat band and worked in stockinette stitch in the round. The scarf is worked flat in the fluted fabric stitch; the edges are enclosed in a stockinette binding.
